2019 Feedback

We're really sorry, we can't go ahead with the Witch Finder Trail; Given the current situation with COVID-19 there will not be a 2020 event.

We really are as disappointed as you about this announcement but the health & safety of everyone is paramount and the residents of Acorn Village are particularly vulnerable.
I would like to thank those of you have already taken the time to contact us, anticipating this decision, and offer your entry fee as a donation, this comes at a time when fund raising for Acorn Village is going to be particularly difficult, you will make a difference.

With regard to those who have already entered, we are currently working on some options for you and we will email once we have these finalised. A full refund will of course be available to those who would like it, we are also looking to offer a deferral to next year's event or, if you wish to donate your entry fee to Acorn Village, along with our huge gratitude, we would offer a 50% discount on next year's event.
We are also working on options for those who have paid for t-shirts, again a full refund will be one option, a custom 'The event which didn't happen' t-shirt may be another!

We will keep this page updated when we have more to share.
Many thanks,
The Witch Finder Trail Team

Race Day: 3rd May 2020
Welcome to the new home of the Witch Finder Trail, a unique trail route taking you through historic sites around the areas of Mistley, Manningtree and Bradfield where the infamous Witch Finder General accused and tried many apparent witches.

Here you will find all the information you need about the event and you'll be able to sign up to the category of your choice.

Once again we will be holding the 5k run & walk and the 10k run. We are currently looking into the feasibility of a new, slightly more extreme route for 2020, more on that when we have some news to share!

We are also offering a free t-shirt to anyone who raises over £50 in sponsorship, you can download the sponsorship form from here. Alternatively, why not enter with your dog and ask people to sponsor your furry friend in their endeavors?! The dog sponsorship form can be found here.

This event is held to make as much money as possible for adults with learning disabilities at Acorn Village. Thanks to the wonderful sponsors from Essex & South Suffolk Community Rail Partnership, the medals will again be spectacular and ensure as much money as possible will go straight back to the charity. If you know a corporate company who may like to get involved, please get in touch.
